Kohima, June 11 (MExN): Along with the rest of the world, Nagaland will be observing World Blood Donor Day on June 14 under the theme “Blood connects us all, share life, give blood.”
In the state capital Kohima, Nagaland State Blood Transfusion Council (NSBTC), Directorate of Health & Family Welfare will be organizing a state level commemoration programme on June 14 at 11:00 AM in the conference hall of Directorate of H&FW, Kohima.
M. Patton, IAS, commissioner & secretary H&FW and chairman NSBTC will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Significance of the day will be given by NSACS project director Dr. Meguosielie Kire while short presentation will be made by Alipoker, assistant director VBD.
Dr. P. Tia Jamir, director NSBTC & joint director (BTS), NSACS will lead discussion on presentation while vote of thanks will be proposed by W.H. Patton, Dy. Drugs Controller & Governing Body member, NSBTC.
Meanwhile, the Voluntary Blood Donors Association Kohima (VBDAK) in collaboration with HQ IGAR (North) will also be observing World Blood Donor Day at Motivation Hall, Assam Rifles, Kohima from 9:30 AM onwards.
Maj. Gen. M.S. Jaswal, IGAR (North) will grace the occasion as the chief guest. Motivational talk will be led by VBDAK president Kholie Dolf. Welcome address will be delivered by Dr. Capt. Miiniilu Hesuh while vote of thanks will be proposed by Ainato Yeptho, assistant director NSACS.
