Nagaland to observe World Health Day

Kohima: Nagaland along with the rest of the world will be observing World Health Day on April 7 at Healthcare Laboratory & Research Centre, Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima (NHAK) from 11 AM onwards. The occasion marks the anniversary of founding of World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948. The topic for 2014 is Vector Borne Disease “Small Creatures, Big Threat.” The day provides an opportunity for individuals in every community to get involve in activities that can lead to better health.

A one-day state level programme will be organized by National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) Nagaland where World Health Day will be observed followed by quiz competition among the nursing students. Dr. Neiphi Kire, principal director, health & family welfare will grace the occasion as chief invitee while Keyote address will be delivered by Dr. Takonuksung Lemtor, director (FW).  This was stated in a release issued by Dr. P. Tia Jamir, joint director/SPO (NVBDCP), Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland: Kohima.
