Dimapur, August 31 (MExN): United Gorkha Football Club Dimapur & Gorkha Panthers Football Club Chümoukedima felicitated the six Nagaland Olympic 2022 medalists from Chümoukedima and Dimapur district. The 2nd Nagaland Olympic Games and Paralympic Games 2022 was held at Kohima.
A press release received here stated that the gold medal winners included Krishna Mote who received Gold Medal in Boxing 54KGS, Rahul Gurung Gold Medalist in Football, David KC, Bronze Medal in Boxing 71KGS, Bhim Mote Gold Medal in Boxing 51KGS, Monika Rai, Bronze Medal in Taekwondo 54KG (Female) and Anjana Limbu Runner-up in Badminton at club felicitation program at the Little Hut Conference Hall in Chümoukedima District.
Among those present on the occasion to felicitate them included Gopal Lama, President, Chümoukedima Gorkha Union, Annu Bantawa Rai, General Secretary, Chümoukedima Gorkha Women Society, BB Sewa, Former President, Chümoukedima Gorkha Union and Adhitya Bantawa Rai, Vice President, Chümoukedima Gorkha Union.
Gopal Lama, in his address, focused on unity of Gorkhas through sports. Anand Gurung President of UGFC added that he has proved that Gorkhas can also become a strong and lasting sportsperson in Nagaland by bringing transformation at present. Jacob Sundas Convenor of GPFC appealed the Gorkha Community of Chümoukedima and Dimapur District to unite and work for establishing more Gorkha Sportsperson by investing on their Talent.
