Dimapur, December 7 (MExN): A 33-year-old Naga man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a minor girl in Dimapur on December 5.
A press release from Dimapur Police informed that the victim was returning home on foot “when the accused accosted her for a lift in his autorickshaw.”
The release stated that the victim was then “taken to a hotel and sexually assaulted.”
“The victim however managed to alert her family members and consequently the accused was arrested by the police,” it said.
Further, it said that a case has been registered at the Women Police Station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
