Chümoukedima, February 20 (MExN): Over 88 participants, including students (41 girls and 47 boys) and faculty members, took part in a marathon organised under the banner of ‘Run for a Sustainable Future’ on February 16. This event, an annual highlight of National Science Day was organised by the National Institute of Technology Nagaland Science Society (NNSS).
In the girls’ segment, covering a 4-kilometer stretch, Lea N Chophi clinched the first position, followed by Kina Assumi, and Khriezoseinuo in second and third places respectively. Meanwhile, the boys covered 6.4-kilometer distance with Sajad Uddin Qureshi, Keying David, and Tovi Achumi securing the first, second, and third positions. The winners were awarded exciting cash prizes and certificates.
Dr Jyoti Prasad Borah, Associate Professor and President, NNSS shared the word of gratitude. NNSS Vice President and General Secretary, Gongotree Phukan and Shokom Salim informed that the institute will host the sixth edition of ALRIS on February 28 on the occasion of National Science Day. The event highlights include science exhibitions, poster competitions, extempore speeches, quiz and much more. Several schools and colleges from Dimapur as well as Chümoukedima have been invited to join the occasion.
