Nagaland Pharmacists must attend refresher courses

KOHIMA, AUGUST 1 (MExN): The Nagaland State Pharmacy Council has notified that Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) programs will now be strictly implemented across the State, following the mandate of the Pharmacy Practice Regulation 2015.

In a press release, the Council reminded all registered pharmacists in Nagaland that the CPE programs, which were kept on hold since the outbreak of COVID-19, will be resumed and enforced in accordance with the regulatory provisions.

“The Nagaland State Pharmacy Council once again reminds all the Registered Pharmacists in the State that henceforth Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) programs, which was kept on hold since the outbreak of COVID-19, will be strictly implemented in the State as per the provision and mandated of the Pharmacy Practice Regulation 2015,” it stated.

As per the Regulation, for renewal of registration, pharmacists are required to attend a minimum of two refresher courses in pharmacy of at least one-day duration each within a span of five years. The certificates of participation are to be produced at the time of renewal.

The Council further informed that it will be conducting the next round of CPE programs “in a zone wise manner.” It added: “The actual time, date and venue shall be notified in due course of time through the local dailies.”
