Kohima, September 17 (MExN): Red Ribbon Club, Phek Government College, Phek organised a one day awareness programme on the theme ‘Life is your Journey, Travel Drug Free’ with Dr. Limatoshi, Medical Officer, District Hospital Phek, as the pesource person on the September 13 last at Deo Nukhu Hall.
The resource person shared with the gathering about the myths and facts about blood donation and encouraged the students to come forward for as blood donors.
He also shared about HIV/AIDS, how the virus is transmitted and the stigma/discrimination associated with it that society looks upon the people living with HIV/AIDS positive people.
Kuduvo Kezo, District Programme Officer, DAPCU also shared to the gathering to come forward for screening of blood which will benefit the individual and the society as a whole.
Devoto Nienu and Keweku were honoured with a blood donation certificate for donating blood on September 11.
The programme was chaired by the Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Thoshusie Katiry, Nodal Officer, Dr. Vizovol Mekro delivered welcome note and a special song was presented by the musical band ‘Velocity’ and Volunteers of Red Ribbon Club.
