DIMAPUR, JULY 12 (MExN): The Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA), in collaboration with the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), conducted it’s first-ever pickleball workshop here on Saturday, marking a milestone for the sport in the state.
The free workshop, held at Aiko Greens, was led by Dilip Mohanty, a certified PPR coach from the United States. Participants from various backgrounds and age groups attended the session, which did not require prior registration.
“Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, and seeing the excitement and energy here in Nagaland gives us confidence that the sport has a bright future in the Northeast,” Mohanty said.
The session, conducted from 6 pm to 8 pm, focused on basic techniques, game strategies, and real-time play demonstrations. It also served as a prelude to the upcoming 1st Nagaland Pickleball Open Tournament, scheduled for Sunday at the same venue.
According to NPA, the initiative marked the beginning of structured pickleball coaching in the state and brought together a community of players, fans, and supporters. The association expressed gratitude to all participants and supporters, and stated that efforts are underway to expand the sport to more districts.
