Nagaland: Pink bus service in Kohima from Nov 20

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 17 (MExN): The Nagaland State Transport Department has announced that it will be introducing Pink Bus service for Kohima city from November 20, 7 am onwards.  

City Pink Buses is a welfare programme for women and was first introduced in Dimapur in September this year.  

These buses will run between important locations of the state capital and will carry female commuters, making sure that none of the women travellers, whether she is a regular commuter or an occasional passenger, get best and timely transportation facilities, the department stated in a release.  

Stating that the pink buses for women are a first of its kind in the North East, P Paiwang Konyak, Nagaland Minister for Transport & Civil Aviation, Railways & Land Resources said during the launching in Dimapur that the department "hope it will not be just an introduction but will go a long way.”
