Kohima, April 12 (MExN): The Planning & Transformation Department (P&TD) officers held a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Planning & National Highways, TR Zeliang at Nagaland Civil Secretariat conference hall on April 12.
A DIPR report said, speaking at the meeting, the Dy CM mentioned that re-naming of Planning & Coordination Department to Planning & Transformation was necessitated due to the many changes that have come about in the development and planning domain during the past years.
“With the change of coordination to transformation, I am hopeful that each one of us will re-orient ourselves and act on our respective responsibilities to transform not only in the Department but the state in general,” he said.
He informed all the DPOs to re-activate and to update themselves with the progress of development activities taking place in the District and Sub-division under various departments so that the Department can transform the face of the state within a few years time.
“This is the dream of present day Government and such dream can be transformed into a reality if we make effort towards this goal,” he added.
Earlier the programme was invoked by Deputy Development Commissioner, Kezunyipeu Teno. Welcome address was delivered by Principal Secretary & Development Commissioner, R Ramakrishan, IAS. A presentation about Planning Department was made by Deputy Development Commissioner, Chorayi Veyie. Deputy Development Commissioner, Pudusul Luho presented about the schemes and Project Director Er Mhathung Kithan presented about GIS & RS Centre. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner, N Nlumo Murry.
