Nagaland Police Meet: 6 NAP take football crown

Dimapur, November 22 (MExN): First timers 6 NAP edged DEF Kohima 2-1 to emerge as champions of the 37th Nagaland Police Meet 2017 held here at the Chumukedima Police Complex on Wednesday.

It was a spectacular affair as both teams showed great skills and managed to get a goal apiece in the first half. The second half witnessed a resurgent 6 NAP side attacking relentlessly and making numerous attempts on goal. Their persistence paid off when in the dying minutes, Kekhreiletuo found the back of the net for 6 NAP. The loss for DEF Kohima meant they had to be content with the runners up trophy for the second consecutive time.

The volleyball final between holders 10 NAP (IR) and last season’s runner-up CP Dimapur witnessed two evenly matched sides display a very high standard of volleyball with both teams exchanging powerful smashes and some fine placements.

The two teams were tied with 2 sets apiece in the best of 5 sets and, both teams were neck in neck in the final set before CP Dimapur pulled ahead to emerge as champions and avenging last season’s loss.
