Dimapur, November 20 (MExN): Thungtimoa of 3 NAP led a pack of runners to win the 10000 metres race in the men’s event at the ongoing 37th Nagaland Police Meet 2017 here at the Chumukedima Police Complex. Fellow teammate Chekong bagged silver while Nzanthung of 10 NAP (IR) followed to claim bronze.
In High Jump, Huvo Tetseo of 10 NAP (IR) won Gold while Yongna of 14 NAP (IR) and Venuzo of DEF Kohima followed with silver and bronze respectively.
In Shot Put, Medolhou Sote of DEF Kohima won the Gold Medal; Neilalie of 10 NAP (IR) and Potsure of 4 NAP Bn claimed silver and bronze respectively.
The Weapon Handling Competition conducted at NAPTC Stadium was won by 10 NAP (IR) Bn followed by NAPTC and 15 NAP (IR) respectively.
The day also witnessed exciting football being played. 6 NAP thumped 3 NAP 7-0 in the first quarterfinal match while 2 NAP beat 14 NAP (IR) 4-2. In the evening matches, 12 NAP (IR) lost to DEF Kohima 2-4 while 1 NAP edged DEF Tuensang via tie-breaker 5-3 after the match ended in a draw at the end of regulation time.
In Volleyball, 10 NAP (IR) beat 11 NAP (IR) 25-10, 25-19 while DEF Peren lost to 12 NAP (IR) 26-28, 23-25. In the evening matches, 2 NAP beat DEF Mon 25-23, 25-16 and CP Dimapur beat 14 NAP (IR) 25-16, 25-22.
