Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): Barely 24 hours before the official registration closes at 3:00 PM on November 7, nearly 30,000 candidates (29,807) have registered for the ongoing Nagaland Police recruitment drive.
Of these, 27,422 candidates have paid the examination fee, leaving a considerable number who have yet to complete the payment. Candidates intending to appear for the recruitment are urged to pay the fee before the deadline to avoid disqualification.
The drive for 1,176 Constable (General Duty) posts has drawn a strong response since the online portal opened on 6 October. Advertised on 30 September by the Office of the Director General of Police, the process is being conducted exclusively through official recruitment portal https://nagalandpolicerecruitment.in.
The selection procedure includes open rallies at district headquarters, conducted by the Departmental Recruitment Board and District Screening Committees. Candidates declared medically fit and who clear the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will then sit for a written examination. Final merit will be based on combined PET and written test scores, with shortlisted candidates called for interviews in a 1:3 ratio.
The eligibility criteria include ages 18–38 years, with educational qualifications ranging from Class 6 for Backward Tribes to Class 8 for other Indigenous Naga Tribes. Most posts are district-based according to tribal ratios and population, while 144 posts in Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland are open to all Indigenous Naga Tribes.
