Nagaland Police registers 17 cases, arrest 28

KOHIMA, JUNE 13 (MExN): Continuing with its state wide operations to combat menace of widespread availability and usage of synthetic drugs and psychotropic substances and IMFL, Nagaland Police has launched intensive checking of vehicles (MVCP), raids and checking of hotels, restaurants etc.

Subsequently, in the fortnight from May 16-31, the police registered 17 cases and arrested 28 person for possession of narcotics psychotropic substances, IMFL and arms and ammunitions. A total of 466 grams of brown sugar, 57 grams of heroin, 4740 bottles of assorted IMFL were seized were seized from the possession of the arrested. A .22 rifle with 6 live rounds and one magazine were also seized. 

While highlighting this, the Nagaland Police further appealed to the public to provide information on sale/distribution of any form of narcotics/drugs/IMFL etc, to the nearest Police Station or Narcotic Police Station. The CUG (Closed User Group) phone numbers of various Nagaland Police Officers & Police Stations is available in ‘Call Your Cop’ mobile App. The identity of the informant shall be kept confidential, the DIPR report stated.
