Nagaland: ‘Politics is not only during or for election’

Kohima, August 2 (MExN): Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse held an interactive meeting with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Kohima Region on August 2.

The Minister, who is the Legislator incharge of the NDPP Kohima Region comprising of six assembly constituencies emphasised on the need to build a strong foundation at the grassroots to strengthen the party and its leaders, stated a press release from the NDPP Kohima Region. 

Addressing the party leaders, she said that politics is not only during or for election but to work for the welfare of the people. “We have to continuously strive to strengthen the party and our leaders,” stated the Minister while citing the divisive forces that are always at play.

Kruse also reminded the party leaders from the six ACs to work for their people as leaders, representing their respective constituencies by creating awareness on the schemes and policies of the government that are available for the people.
In line with the party’s motto ‘Facta Non Verba’ (Deeds not words), Kruse asserted that ‘rather than waiting to be spoon-fed, as leaders, you must work for yourself and for your people.’

The minister also emphasised on unity among the party members, and justice in all its endeavours. While seeking the support and cooperation of the Region, she also assured all possible support and cooperation towards strengthening the party in the state, and expressed optimism that together it can fulfil the aspirations of the party, for the people.

Acting president, Prasielie Pienyü assured to work towards strengthening the party and its leaders. NDPP Kohima Region General Secretary, Kechangulie Kense highlighted the activities of the party such as the ‘Voluntary Task Team’ responding to crisis and disasters, touring of other districts and inter A/C sports meet. Working president, Keduolhoulie Houzha proposed the vote of thanks.
