Nagaland Poll: Enforcement agencies seize over Rs 35 cr 

Kohima, February 10 (MExN): Enforcement agencies have seized over Rs 35 crore in monetary value since the announcement of the dates for General Election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly till February 9, the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland said on Friday. ECI had announced the date for the elections in Nagaland on January 18.

“Monetary value of the Progressive Seizure made by various Enforcement Agencies both Central and State from the Date of announcement of General Election to Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023 till the 9th of February 2023, is Rs35,60,60,600,” the Nagaland CEO Office stated in an update.

‘The details of the various items seized are given as follows; Cash-Rs 2,71,00,670; IMLF (40925.65 litres)-Rs 3,72,11,428; Drugs/Narcotics (3.06 Kgs)-Rs 25,70,72,230; Freebies/other items-Rs 3,46,76,272,’ it informed. 

The following seizure were made on February 9: Cash of Rs 10477220, liquor 1180.02 litres worth Rs 1262600, drugs/narcotics seized worth Rs 466600, freebies and other items worth Rs Nil totaling monetary value of Rs 1,14,27,070.

Nagaland will go to the polls on February 27 and votes will be counted on March 2.
