Nagaland Polls: More notifications from DC & DEOs

Kohima: DC & DEO Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, has informed all Returning Officers (ROs) of 8th Western Angami-A/C, 9th Kohima Town A/C, 10th Northern Angami-I A/C, 12th Tseminyu A/C, 14th Southern Angami –I A/C and 15th Southern Angami-II A/C that the 4th Mock Drill on Webcasting will be held on February 23 from 11:00 am onwards. 

The DC& DEO, Kohima has therefore informed the ROs to ensure the following for the mock drill: BLOs of the earmarked polling stations should be directed to be present in their respective polling station’s location by 9:30 am on February 23 and keep the polling room unlocked and ready. The control room at the ROs level should be activated on the day. The DC& DEO has also requested the ROs to go through the guidelines for monitoring of webcast feed on the poll and adhere to the guidelines.  

Phek: DC & DEO, Phek, Shanavas C, IAS, has in a notification directed all vehicles requisitioned for conduct of General Elections, 2018 in Phek district to report to Local Ground, Phek Town as per the listed schedule: Meluri and Chozuba vehicles to report on February 23, at 9 am; Vehicles reporting to Chizami, Pfutsero, Phek Sadar and Phek Town to reach at 9:00 am on February 24.  

DC& DEO, Shanavas C, IAS has in a circular informed all concerned who have been drafted for Election duty for the upcoming Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2018 that casting of Postal Ballots in the Facilitation Centre at the Office of the DC& DEO, Phek, has been extended till 3:00 pm of February 25, 2018. Receiving of filled up application for Postal Ballots in form-12 along with supporting documents including a photo copy of EPIC in respect of Assembly Constituencies under Phek District shall be acknowledged till 3:00 pm of February 23, informed the circular.  

Wokha: The 3rd and final round of training for all Wokha district Polling Personnel drafted for Election duty has been fixed on February 24 at GHSS, Wokha at 10:00 am. All polling personnel have therefore been informed to attend the training without fail. Disciplinary action shall be initiated against the absentees as per the relevant sections of law, warned the order.  

DC & DEO, Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS, has in an order directed owners/drivers of vehicles requisitioned for the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election duty from Wokha District to report to the Local Ground with their vehicles on February 23 and 24 without fail. Non compliance of the order shall be liable for strict action as per the provision of Representatives of People Act, 1951, stated the order.  

Mokokchung: The 3rd and final phase of training for polling officials will be held at Auditorium, Mayangnokcha Govt. Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung on February 23 and 24. This was informed by DC & DEO Mokokchung on February 22. The DC& DEO has further informed that the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Polling Officers training will be held on February 23 from 9:00 am. Training for Presiding Officers and First Polling Officers will be held on February 24 from 9:00 am onwards. All Presiding Officers and Polling Officers have been directed to report at MGHSS auditorium at 9:00 am on the dates allotted for them.  

Failure to comply with the directives will attract disciplinary action against the concern Polling Officers as per Section 134 of the Representation of People Act, 1951 and Section 174 of Indian Penal Code, warned the DC& DEO.  

Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, SachinJaiswal, IAS, has informed all citizens of Mokokchung that the polling day to the 13th General Election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly has been scheduled on February 27 from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.  

The DC & DEO has therefore appealed all citizens of Mokokchung to abide by the ‘One man One vote’ rule of Election Commission of India for free and fair polls. Neither the head of the family nor the Village Council will be allowed to vote for others, he added.   It has also been informed that no Village Councils or traditional village bodies (Putu Menden) should obstruct or stop anyone to exercise their franchise. Such activity by person/group/body involved in such malicious practice shall be viewed as a direct action to vitiate the poll process and strict legal action shall be initiated against them immediately, warned the DC& DEO.  

Longleng: DC & DEO, Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam has informed all Presiding Officers under 49 AC Tamlu and 50 A/C Longleng that the polling materials for polling will be dispatched on February 25 at 12:00 pm at Receiving & Dispatching Centre, DC Office, Longleng. However, EVM, (CU, BU) & VVPAT will be issued only on February 26 during their departure to polling stations.  

The DC & DEO, Longleng has further directed all polling parties to report at DC& DEO office on February 25 at 1:00 pm to familiarize themselves with their group members and also for a final briefing by the DC& DEO. All concerned has been directed to attend the briefing without fail.  

Dimapur: DC & DEO Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel IAS, in an Office Notice informed all the Political Parties of the intending candidates of Dimapur that scrutiny process of Form 17A and other documents shall be conducted as follows on February 28: 1 Dimapur I - R.O. of Dimapur I office chamber, DC Office , Dimapur at 11:00 am; 2 Dimapur II- DC office Chamber, DC office Dimapur at 11:30 am; 3 Dimapur III- R.O. of Dimapur III office chamber, DC Office, Dimapur at 12:00 noon; 4 Ghaspani I- VC Room, NIC office, 2nd floor, DC Office, Dimapur at 11:00 am; 5 Ghaspani II- Computer Room,NIC,2nd floor, DC Office, Dimapur at 11:30 am.
