
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 11 (MExN): A state level media organization has been formed in a consultative meeting held on November 10, 2011 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur. The meeting was attended by the editors, journalists and non-journalist employees working in the respective media houses in the state. After thorough deliberation on the proposed need to have a state level organization, the house unanimously agreed to form the association and named it as “the Nagaland Press Association” (NPA) and subsequently adopted the draft constitution.
In order to make the association function with immediate effect, an interim team of office bearers has been constituted by consensus decision with the following members: President – K.Temjen Jamir, Vice President – H.Chishi, General Secretary – Along Longkumer, Assistant General Secretary- Tinakali and the Finance Secretary- Dilip Sharma. The interim team of the NPA shall be responsible for matters relating to membership enrolment, general welfare and will conduct formal election within six months according to the constitution adopted on November 10, 2011.
