Nagaland has undertaken stringent steps to identify and cancel non-functioning/defunct cooperative societies, which did not commence working, have ceased to work or comply materially with any condition as per the Cooperatives Acts, Rules or Bye-Laws.
The state’s department of cooperation embarked on the exercise following a state cabinet’s decision in 2010, stated the annual administrative report of cooperation department 2017-18 tabled by Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation G. Kaito Aye on the floor of the House today.
Accordingly, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies Nagaland, Kohima has identified and notified 342 numbers for cancellation of registration and till date no objection has been raised from any concerned against the notification. The same has been put under the process of cancellation of registration.
