KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 23 (MExN): Project VARDAAN, an initiative aimed at raising awareness about deceased organ donation, has successfully wrapped up its final phase in Nagaland. The program, led by the Zublee Foundation in partnership with the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (NEDFi), ran from February 13 to 21.
The campaign, part of NEDFi’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, conducted eight workshops across Kohima and Dimapur. Institutions including Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMSR), Kohima College, Alder College, National Institute of Technology, Grace Nursing Institute, Nagaland University, Sazolie College, and the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) hosted sessions focused on dispelling myths and fostering dialogue around organ donation.
Faculty members and institutional leaders praised the program’s impact, with many expressing a commitment to continue promoting awareness through student-led initiatives.
Priyanka Borah, CEO of the Zublee Foundation, called the project’s success in Nagaland a “significant milestone” and highlighted the enthusiastic participation from students and faculty as a sign of growing support for the cause.
Project coordinators Diksha Kashyap and Dharitri Nath are set to continue engagement efforts with follow-up activities planned over the next three months, aiming to sustain momentum and deepen understanding of organ donation in participating institutions.
The completion of Project VARDAAN in Nagaland marks a key step toward reshaping perceptions and encouraging community involvement in organ donation across the Northeast.
