Nagaland public health engineers meet held

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 26 (MExN): The 5th General conference of the Association of Public Health Engineers, Nagaland was held on February 22 at IMC Hall, Dimapur.
Er. P. Khetoi Sema, in his presidential address, acknowledged the pioneer members of the association for rendering their service in strengthening the association and for various initiatives undertaken for the welfare of the officers and the department in particular.
He also stressed on the expansion of the department for creation of new posts for efficient and smooth functioning at various levels and association should continue to pursue pertinent issues, a press statement issued by Er. Ichirang Zeliang, joint secretary stated.
Er. Repangyangba Longkumer Chief Engineer, PHED also spoke on the occasion and reminded the members of the responsibility being water engineers and the challenge faced by technical staff in implementing any waters supply schemes. He encouraged the officers to shoulder responsibility and make collective efforts for the successful implementation of the upcoming Jal Jeevan Mission.
Principal Secretary, PHED, MK Mero, who graced the occasion as special guest, spoke of the challenge to implement Jal Jeevan Mission, a flagship program to provide a functional household tap connection to every rural household by the year 2024.
Earlier, the program was chaired by Er. N. Yanger Pongen, general secretary APHEN. A new team of office bearers led by Er. Leyang was elected for the tenure 2020-23.
