Nagaland: Pvt hospitals no longer need to reserve beds for COVID-19 patients

Kohima, July 6 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland on Tuesday revoked its May 5 order directing all private hospitals in the state to reserve at least 50% of the hospital beds for treatment of COVID-19 patients to meet the emergency requirements.

In a notification issued through the state DIPR, the government, the government stated that the incidence of COVID-19 cases in the State and number of COVID-19 patients requiring hospitalisation has seen a decline over the last few weeks. “The matter was discussed in the State Level COVID War Room and it was felt that the number of beds available in Government Hospitals and dedicated COVID Hospitals is sufficient to meet the requirements at present for treatment of COVID-19 patients. Keeping this in view, the mandatory reservation of beds in the private hospitals may not be required,” the notification read.
