Nagaland PWD minister inspects road construction sites

Dimapur, April 14 (MExN): Nagaland minister for Public Works Department Tongpang Ozukum today inspected the ongoing road construction sites in Kohima along with department officials led by Executive Engineer South Division, Kohima, Hokato Sema.

According to a press release received here, the Engineer during the inspection apprised the minister of the technical provisions of the repair works that are underway, starting with the main administration highway – the State Secretariat road, currently in a deplorable condition.

While conducting a range of inspections, the minister expressed satisfaction on the effort given by the officials and the workers despite the unfavorable monsoon rain and loose soil threats, it said.

The minister also inspected the ongoing construction of the retaining wall near Soul Harvest Church Daklane, which was washed away by a massive landslide cutting one of the major lifelines of the city leading to Naga Hospital Authority Kohima and to Secretariat.

He said all efforts are given to restore the road at the earliest possible time and appealed to the people once again to bear with the inconveniences, the release informed.
