Nagaland’s PWD minister Tongpang Ozukum completed his last leg of district tour inspection and visiting the District Hq PWD divisions with Phek district on February 16 last.
This is his last district tour inspection and visiting the District Hq PWD divisions to supervise the latest status and expedite the ongoing projects across Nagaland.
After this, he will be visiting remaining Sub Divisions beginning from March.
On being asked his overall observation during this visit to all the districts headquarters, he expressed satisfaction over the workmanship for projects that were undertaken under District Hq maintenance under Task Force.
He, however, said in few areas, rain has damaged certain portions that should be rectified.
He urged the contractors to judiciously carry out the works within the time frame and ensure quality work.
Pfutsero
The minister inspected the project of Special Road Development Fund (SDRF) from Pfutsero Town Baptist Church Junction till Pfutsero indoor stadium premises and expressed satisfaction over the quality of the work done
Pfutsero (PWD) executive engineer Er. Tiatemsu Ao said the road improvement work within Pfutsero town will be executed from February 18.
Er.Tiatemsu expressed the shortfall of PWD labour after the introduction of VRS mode where no replacement was done. To this, the minister informed assured to take up the matter with the cabinet for review.
SARDP-NE
Inspecting 2 lane Pfutsero-Phek road projects under Special Accelerated Road Development Programme for North East (SARDP-NE) under Phek district, he expressed satisfaction over the progress of the work of stage This project now undertaken by NHDCL stretching 62.5 Km is due to be completed in 3 years time.
He also inspected the same route of Chakhabama - Zubheboto under (SARDP-NE).
He urged upon the landowners and the public in general to cooperate and support the executing agency and the contractors for smooth execution of the work.
EE PWD Phek
The minister inspected the ongoing road repairing work at New Colony and another completed work towards Christian Mission Higher Secondary School Phek.
Ozukum inspected the ongoing road development works under Central Road Fund (CRF) from Satheri- Chepoketa.
Phek PWD (R&B) EE Abija Khing said that many other road developmental works are going on full swing.
Chozuba
The minister shared the concern of the pitiable building structure of SDO (PWD) Chozuba office and quarters.
Chozuba SDO (PWD) Er. Daniel said that SDO (PWD) Chozuba has already sent a proposal to state government to recommend for full-fledged PWD division.
Er. Daniel said that the road repairing work from Y junction Chozuba to ADC office approach rod will start from this month.
The minister inspected CRF project at Chozuba and expressed some portion needs to be expedited.
He urged upon the engineers and all the employees to rededicate themselves in serving the people in whatever capacities they are in.
Meanwhile, Ozukum informed that the department is all set to execute works under annual maintenance program and urged that quality works should never be compromised.
Accompanying the minister, Er. Kaholi,SE, circle-II, PWD (R&B) urged the officers to be committed and serve the public well.
