Nagaland receives Rs 33.96 crore for BADP in 2018-19

New Delhi, July 2 (MExN): The State of Nagaland received a total of Rs 33.96 crore, as a part of Border Area Development Programme (BADP), the Lok Sabha was informed today. 

According to figure given by Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai in a written reply to question in the Lok Sabha on July 2, a total of  Rs 770.62 crore were released for BADP in 2018-19 in 17 states under BAPD. 

Nagaland received Rs 32.15 and Rs 40.04 crore respectively in 2016-17 and 2017-18. The Government of India is implementing BADP through the State Governments, in the border areas of 17 States viz,  Arunachal Pradesh, Assam,   Bihar, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh,  Jammu  and Kashmir, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

“Govt of India releases funds to the State Governments who in turn issue the District wise allotments. As such, District-wise data about the amount released under BADP is not maintained centrally,” the Minister added.
