Kohima, June 2 (MExN): After a lull on Sunday, Nagaland reported 6 fresh COVID-19 positive cases on Monday morning taking the total number of infections to 49.
“Out of 90 samples tested from Chennai returnees, 5 Male & 1 Female has tested COVID-19 +ve. All cases are from Dimapur,” Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom informed in a tweet on June 2.
Out of the 49 cases, Dimapur has reported 31, Kohima has 13 while Tuensang has 5.
All the active cases are related to the Shramik special train from Chennai that reached the state on May 22 and they are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals.
Meanwhile, Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu in his daily briefing on Sunday evening said that active surveillance is going on to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Till date, a total of 2782 samples have been tested out of which 1656 samples tested negative and 43 are positive. Results for 1083 samples are awaited, he added.
