Nagaland registers 88 fresh COVID cases, 3 more deaths

Dimapur, July 13 (MExN): Nagaland registered 88 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday while 3 more deaths were also reported taking the State’s COVID-19 fatality count to 500.

According to the health department’s daily bulletin, Tuesday’s fatalities were reported from Dimapur (2) and Kohima (1). A total of 38 new cases were detected from self test or random test while 38 were traced contacts, 9 were armed personnel/security forces, 2 were returnees/travellers,  and 1 frontline worker. 

The new cases were detected among 1,023 samples that were tested on Tuesday, returning a daily positivity rate of 8.60 percent.

The new cases were reported from Kohima-30, Mokokchung-28, Dimapur-8, Longleng and Mon-6 each, Phek-4, Zunheboto-3 and 1 each from Kiphire, Tuensang and Wokha.

Meanwhile, 80 recoveries were also reported in the last 24 hours. They include 35 from Kohima, 15 from Dimapur, 16 from Mokokchung and 7 each from Kiphire and Mon. 

The total caseload of the State is now 26,140. A total of 23,938 patients have recovered from the infection and there are now 962 active cases.
