Nagaland reports 19 new COVID-19 cases, total rises to 434

The COVID-19 total tally in Nagaland increased to 434 Monday morning with 19 new positive cases.


The new cases included one from Peren quarantine centre while the rest were reported from Jakhama, probably the Army Cantonment, where first cases were reported last week.


“19 new cases of COVID-19 +ve have reported out of 322 samples tested. 18 from Jakhama QC & 1 from Peren QC,” updated Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom on Twitter on June 29. 


As per the update at 9:50 AM, there were a total of 434  total cases, out of which 270 were active while 164 were officially designated as recovered. 


The state is yet to report any death resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic


Nagaland COVID-19 Dashboard informed out of 434 cases, 325 are males while the rest – 109 are females. 


Most of the cases are in the 18 – 44 age group at 413 and asymptomatic while there are 10 cases each in 0 - 17 and 45 - 64 years age bracket. There is a single case in 65 – 74 years cohort.
