Nagaland reports 60 fresh COVID cases, 2 more deaths

Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): Nagaland reported 60 new COVID-19 cases with a daily positivity rate of 5.95 percent, and 2 more deaths on Friday.

The new cases were detected from among 1,007 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours, according to the daily bulletin issued by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP).

Out of fresh cases, Dimapur reported 19, Mokokchung 11, Kohima 7, Zunheboto 5, Longleng 4, Mon, Peren, Phek and Wokha reported 3 each while Tuensang and Kiphire reported 1 case each. 

Kohima and Mokokchung reported 1 fatality each, taking the state’s COVID related death toll to 493. 

On the other hand, a total of 86 patients who previously tested positive for the virus, recovered on Friday. With this, the state now has a cumulative tally of 25, 787 cases out of which 975 are active cases and 23, 587 have recovered from the infection.

In terms of severity of cases, as of Friday, 842 of the active cases were said to be asymptomatic, 77 were mild symptomatic, 27 were moderate on oxygen, 14 were severe on oxygen, 8 were on ICU without ventilator, and 7 were in ICU on ventilator, as per the bulletin.
