“Accidents are unpredictable and can happen anytime, anywhere- sometimes with devastating outcome. And although it is true, it should not stop you from enjoying life to the fullest.” This is what the MonAram App states under the category- ‘Accidental Protect,’ that will cover those registered with just Rs 500 for a period of one year against medical bills incurred due to accidents.

In what they term as a “financial cushioning should you ever meet with an accident,” MonAram, a healthcare plan, which is a social impact initiative of SpeakGuru Foundation to provide basic healthcare protection to everyone in Nagaland, is now ready for download on Google Play Store. Towards this end, Thejakielie Zuyie, Brand Ambassador for MonAram and Pelevizo Meyase are travelling across the state beginning today as part of an awareness campaign for MonAram. They were formally flagged off this morning by Keneirienuo K Theunuo, Assistant Director, Department of Industries and Commerce & Team Leader, Startup Nagaland.

Speaking on the occasion at the Directorate where she flagged them off, Theunuo described MonAram as a brilliant initiative which came into existence last year and was one of the top 3 winners of the first edition of Hackathon that was organised by StartUp Nagaland in partnership with the Department of Industries and commerce, and Educentre School of Business. Lezo Putsure, founder and CEO of EduCentre School of Business was also present for the flag off.

“I believe this App (MonAram) will be very helpful for Nagas,” she noted while pointing out that, “we are not serious about insurance and sometimes we don't keep money aside for health.” With just a little amount, she said, “you are going to get a lot of facilities.” Theunuo also wished the MonAram App all the best and assured her prayers and support for the initiative.

Brand Ambassador, Thejakielie Zuyie highlighted about the MonAram App, saying it is not insurance but a healthcare package provider. “It covers your accidental treatments in hospitals. You can download the App in your Android phone and register it for one year at Rs 500”, he informed.

If you have this and come across any accidents, he said, one can avail medical treatment up to Rs 5,000 without paying cash from any of the empanelled hospitals or clinics. In the case of accidental death, your nominee will get an amount of Rs 50,000, he highlighted.

He further pointed out that many other health insurance schemes do not cover accidental dental, but MonAram will be covering accidental dental of Rs 2,000. He also added that the plan covers a total of Rs 57,000.

A passionate rider, the brand ambassador said, “we are riding to almost all the districts of Nagaland as an awareness campaign for the MonAram App and also to register as many hospitals clinics in districts other than Kohima and Dimapur.” The duo will be riding to Wokha today.
