Nagaland: Rural Development officers reminded of liabilities, responsibilities

Kohima, April 22 (MExN): A two day workshop on rural development programme for Rural Development (RD) officials is underway at RD directorate, Kohima from April 22 to 23.

Minister RD, Metsubo Jamir during the inaugural reminded the officers of the certain liabilities and responsibilities they have towards the State government and the people of Nagaland. Jamir urged them to be sincere and prompt in discharging their duties towards the rural people. To this end, he called upon all districts and blocks to ensure that officers and staffs diligently attend seminars and trainings organized by the department.

Jamir also urged the officials to continue learning and upgrading their knowledge so that they remain updated with the new schemes and guidelines issued by the ministry.

Commissioner & Secretary, RD, Neposo Theluo also mentioned that Financial Year 2021-22 had been a very challenging and difficult year. However, he expressed satisfaction that despite all problems some district had performed well. He also felt the need to conduct more training and workshops to update ourselves and to be able to perform batter as many of the officers and field stags are working without proper experience or knowledge of schemes being implemented.

eiterating the importance of using the right nomenclature of schemes, Theluo requested them to go through the permissible list of schemes under MGNREGA so as to familiarize themselves with the right nomenclature of schemes.

A press release issued by K Neibou Sekhose Joint Director, RD said that the two-day workshop will include sessions on VDB Fixed Deposit & Micro Finance, PMAY-(G), RGSA, XVFC, presentation on Amrit Sarovar, scheme nomenclature, Timely payments, NMMS, AO App, GIS, SECURE, BRO, Geo MGNREGA , Moringa Convergence and NREGA-Soft MIS issue.
