‘Nagaland Says No To Plastics’ campaign

Kohima, June 22 (MExN): Identifying the menace of plastic bags and recognizing that littering and waste encompass a wide range of challenges to living being and environment, The Coming Generation (TCG) along with Eco Angels took the ‘Nagaland Says No To Plastics’ campaign, an initiative of Nagaland for Change-N4C, to Rongmei Women Baptist Fellowship on June 21 at Rongmei Baptist Church Kohima.

A seminar on hazards that pose a threat to human being, terrestrial, aquatic animals and to the environment were delivered by Alice Kamei, Program Co-coordinator TCG, informed a press release from TCG.

After being enlightened on the hazards of plastic bags, all the women who attended the seminar decided to reduce and stop using plastic bags in the days to come as they desire for a healthy environment and safer future for the next generation, the release stated.

According to the release, the campaign aims to support and encourage statewide ban on the use of plastic, which poses a great danger to the environment. “No matter what, where, in the hills and in the valley we say No Plastic in Nagaland shall be our slogan. This journey has just begun for safer future of people and the planet earth,” it asserted.

TCG, which aims to make Nagaland a plastic free state, appealed to lend support to the journey of ‘Nagaland Says No To Plastics’ to implement it successfully.
