Nagaland schools to observe Swachhata Pakhwada from September 1

Kohima, August 18 (MExN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has announced that all registered institutions in the state will observe Swachhata Pakhwada, a nationwide cleanliness drive, from September 1 to September 15.

Initiated by the Ministry of Education, Department of School Education and Literacy, New Delhi, Swachhata Pakhwada has been an annual event since 2016, aiming to involve schools in promoting cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene across the country.

Schools in Nagaland are expected to follow the action plan provided by the Ministry, which outlines daily activities to be conducted during the two-week campaign. These activities are designed to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. Schools are required to document their participation by sending daily reports and photos to the designated email, swachhatapakhwadangaland@gmail.com.

The NBSE has urged all heads of institutions to not only engage in the activities during Swachhata Pakhwada but to also incorporate these practices into their regular routines, ensuring that the campaign's impact is sustained throughout the year.
