Kohima, December 12 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education, Government of Nagaland has directed all schools and hostels in Nagaland, both government and private, to comply with a set of child safety directives issued by the Government following an order of the Supreme Court dated November 7. The notification, issued on December 12, stated that the directives arise from SMW (C) No. 5 of 2025 in the matter titled “City Hounded By Strays, Kids Pay Price.”
According to the Directorate, the Government has issued detailed instructions to all educational institutions and hostels “in the interest of children safety, security and health”.
Heads of all schools in the State have been instructed to comply with the directives and submit an Action Taken Report on or before December 17 to the Principal Director of School Education. The notification stated that a scanned copy of the signed ATR in PDF format must be uploaded “through the Activities tab provided at the DoSE Online School Monitoring Portal https://school.dosenl.in/.”
The Directorate further noted that the matter is time-bound as it pertains to compliance with directions of the Supreme Court. It informed all concerned to “accord priority and strictly adhere to the given timeline.”
