Kohima, April 27 (MExN): The State Election Commission (SEC), Nagaland, has approved the appointment of Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) for the conduct of fresh elections in three municipal wards across the state.
In an order issued on April 27, the Commission said the appointments were made in exercise of powers conferred under sub-rule (3) and sub-rule (4) of Rule 20 of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023.
The fresh elections will be held in Ward 11 (Chaara) of Chumoukedima Town Council, Ward 8 (Tsumang ‘B’) of Wokha Town Council, and Ward 9 (Samba Ghoki) of Atoizu Town Council.
According to the order, Dr Kuzonyi Wideo, ADC, has been designated as Returning Officer for Chumoukedima Town Council, while Er Khriengunuo Theunuo, EAC (HQ), will serve as Assistant Returning Officer.
For Wokha Town Council, Renbomo Ezung, ADC, has been appointed as Returning Officer, and Thepfuzakie Sanchu, EAC, as Assistant Returning Officer.
In Atoizu Town Council, Nukutulu S Venuh, ADC, will serve as Returning Officer, while Dr Samuel Akho Konyak P, EAC, has been designated as Assistant Returning Officer.
The order was issued under the signature of State Election Commissioner T John Longkumer, IPS (Retd).
