Nagaland: Second test of 8 COVID-19 positive cases return negative

Dimapur, June 6 (MExN): Sample tests of 8 COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland have returned negative on second test, informed Advisor, IT, Science and Technology, NRE, Nagaland and State’s Spokesperson for COVID-19, Mmhonlumo Kikon on June 6.

 

 

The Advisor gave the information during a ‘Webinar’ Panel Discussion on ‘COVID-19 in Nagaland’ organised by Naga Scholars' Association (NSA) on June 6.

 

 

On June 6, Nagaland’s active COVID-19 count rose to 107 after 13 new cases were reported in the morning.  According to the State Health Department, all the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and most cases are either asymptomatic or mild symptoms.

 

 

Out of 107 patients, 102 are in 18-44 age group, while the rest are 17 years or below, as per the Nagaland COVID-19 Dashboard. There are 75 males and 32 females among the 107 active cases.

 

 

Meanwhile, an NSA concept note regarding the panel discussion said that it was organised as the number of COVID-19 positive case increases in Nagaland with the arrival of stranded citizens from outside the state.

 

 

The situation has become “a testing ground to analyze whether the state is prepared enough to face the challenge”  and the NSA organised the panel discussion by inviting “some well known personalities in the state who would enlighten us on the topic and further give some directions in combating the challenge,” it stated.

 

 

The panellists in the ongoing discussion include Kikon, .Abhishek Singh CEO, MyGov.in; Monalisa Changkija, Proprietor, Publisher &  Editor of Nagaland Page; and  Dr  Sedevi Angami, Director, CIHSR;  and Dr Abraham Lotha,  Catholic Priest & An Anthropologist.  The moderator is Dr Zuchamo Yanthan, President, NSA.
