Kohima, June 27 (MExN): The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), conducted a 6-day training course on financial literacy for 24 SHG members, engaged as Financial Literacy Community Resource Persons (FLCRP), from June 21 to 27 at Kohima.

The women SHGs-the FLCRPs, shall take up the task to take financial literacy training to villages to enable illiterate/semi-literates understand critical issues like management of own funds, credit and loan products for establishment of micro and small enterprises, redressal of grievances, entitlements, opportunities of investment, leading to loss in income, convergence with other government programmes etc. The literacy rate of the State is 8%, as per report of National Academy of RUDSETI (NAR) Bengalore.

The FLCRP will use an App ‘Saksham’ and operate through their mobile/smart phone. The App will capture SHG/village-wise status of savings, credit, loan from informal sources, Insurance, Digital finance/BC, Pension etc. The application will also help to capture the impact of financial literacy intervention at community level. Based on real time data, analytical reports are made available in web portal. Know the status of SHG/village wise on the above parameters for refining our action/strategic plan/decision making etc.

The trainees also had a field visit-cum-exposure programme to Jakhama village, under Jakhama Block, Kohima District, and interacted with the leaders of Kedakelie VLO and Vimeyie VLO in Jakhama village and gained rich knowledge. These two VLO were National Awardees for outstanding performance in SHG movement.
