‘Nagaland should be part of Viksit Bharat 2047’

Nagaland PHED & Cooperation, Minister Jacob Zhomomi today said stressed on the need to assist one another in all sectors and work hard and insisted that Nagaland should also be part of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Addressing the International Cooperative Day under the theme “Driving inclusive and sustainable solutions for better world” at Registrar of Cooperative Societies office, Meriema near Kohima, the Minister said that Viksit Bharat 2047 is the government's vision to drive the mission of making India a completely developed nation by its 100th anniversary of Independence in 2047.

Stating that India has become the world's fourth-largest economy, Zhimomi said “Very soon, at the rate that is progressing as of now, on all assessment and calculations, we are going to become the third world largest economic superpower.”

He maintained that all the state governments are moving and progressing ahead to make India a fully developed country by 2047.

Stating that Nagaland cannot be left behind, Zhimomi stressed that cooperative segment should perform well in the state.

He said there are about 6.5 lakh cooperative societies with around 30 crore membership in India.

Meanwhile, the minister said that the state government have been requesting the central government to give more projects to Nagaland like Integrated Cooperative Development Project (ICDP).
