Nagaland: St Joseph University launches vocational courses 

Chümoukedima, July 31 (MExN): St Joseph University, Nagaland has launched the vocational courses for its first NEP 2022-23 Batch of undergraduate students on July 29. It was launched in line with the intention of integrating vocational education into mainstream education by skilling the students for life as it is one of the key goals of National Education Policy 2020. 

An update from SJU stated that a total of 24 different courses are offered by various departments to aid students in developing a variety of skills to fulfill industry demands and enhance educational quality in addition to their normal academic courses. Students are trained by the members of the faculty along with working professional and entrepreneurs. 

Altogether 799 students are enrolled for the following courses: The art of baking; Precision archery techniques and training; Comprehensive beauty and wellness; Electrical systems installation and maintenance; Carpentry fundamentals: From tools to techniques; Welding essentials: Techniques and safety; Mushroom cultivation technology; Molecular  modeling and drug design; Practice in tally; Office automation; Entrepreneurship; Life skills education; creative writing; Understanding heritage; Advertising campaign practice; Event management; Vedic mathematics; Physics workshop skill; Mental health and  first aid; Travel and tourism; Ethnographic film making; Paper bag making  and Apiculture.
