The State Cabinet, at its meeting on April 21, has approved the mainstreaming of 2010 & 2013 batches of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) teachers, pending final verifications of their documents.

The State Cabinet has approved the demand and the teachers will be included in the School Education cadre, Advisor and State Spokesperson, Mmhonlumo Kikon told media after the meeting.

However, the teachers have to undergo final verification of their documents once again before the mainstreaming, he said.

The verification process would be carried out for three categories of teachers, he said.

Firstly, re-verification of BEd, DIET certificates etc for those teachers whose documents have been already verified. The second category included verification of 10 teachers whose documents are yet to be verified because the institutions have not responded to the department. Finally, 11 teachers were found with fraudulent certificates and show cause notices have been served to them, he added.

The approval came two days after the expiry of 18-month time frame sought by the State Government ‘to bring the issue to a logical conclusion.’ The assurance given on October 18, 2020 expired on April 18, 2022.

Meanwhile, Kikon further informed that that approval of the mainstreaming of SSA & RMSA teachers was among three major decisions taken by the State Cabinet at its meeting on Thursday.

The two others included decision for the “extension of services to 62 years” for government doctors with a condition that “will be reemployed in the clinical sector till 62 years” and the State Cabinet ‘in principle’ agreeing to include all those departments which were outside the purview of Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) Regulations, 2020.
