The Nagaland State Cabinet, on April 21, has agreed ‘in principle’ to include all those departments which were outside the purview of Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) Regulations, 2020.
The decision came against the against the backdrop of the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) launching an indefinite agitation at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Complex, Kohima from April 21, demanding inclusion of exempted departments under the NSSB.
The State Cabinet has ‘in principle’ agreed to include all those departments which did not come under the purview of NSSB Regulations 2020, Advisor and State Spokesperson, Mmhonlumo Kikon told the media, after a crucial meeting on Thursday.
The departments included Home department and its allied departments including Police, Prisons, Nagaland Lokayukta, NPTO, Home Guard and Civil Defence and Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Excise and Forest Guards.
Kikon further stated that the Cabinet sub-committee will meet the ENSF to work out the modalities in the days to come.
In the light of the decision, he said an appeal has been made to the ENSF to call off the agitation.
The Spokesperson further said that the inclusion of exempted departments under NSSB Regulations 2020 was among three major decisions taken by the State Cabinet at its meeting on Thursday.
The second decision was the “extension of services to 62 years” for government doctors with a condition that “will be reemployed in the clinical sector till 62 years.”
The State Cabinet also approved the mainstreaming of the 2010 & 2013 batches of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) teachers, pending final verification of their documents.
