Kohima, February 15 (MExN): The State Press Accreditation Committee meeting was held at the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall, Kohima on February 15, to take up new applicants for Press Accreditation and other related issues.

The meeting was attended by the Committee members and officials from the Department of Information & Public Relations, stated a DIPR report.

Chairing the meeting, Chief Secretary, Nagaland, J Alam IAS extended greetings to the representatives from the media houses and press clubs and called on the Department of Information & Public Relations to review the Press Accreditation Rules and to amend the said rules, wherever necessary in a comprehensive manner. 

The Committee discussed the rules and procedures for accreditation including eligibility criteria and performance of the applicants etc. New applications were taken up whereby the concerned department was entrusted to look into certain issues that were found to be wanting in the applications.

The meeting also deliberated on the Nagaland Journalists Welfare Fund matters, review of the accredited journalists' list, digital and electronic media, etc.
