Kohima | October 9
The Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting of the Naga People’s Front took place here today at NPF Central HQ Kohima and passed seven-point resolutions.
The meeting while criticizing the functioning of the present PDA government in the state, pointed to the deteriorating condition of roads and other developmental activities in the state. It further asked the PDA government to immediately stopped blaming the weather and restore the roads in the state.
The meeting resolved to uphold the leadership of Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu as President of the Naga People’s Front and TR Zeliang as Leader of NPF Legislature Party.
The CEC also denounced allegations levelled against the leader of the NPF Legislature Party by the NDPP in its press statement dated October 5.
While dispelling the rumours “spread by adversaries to create misunderstanding between the Party and the Legislature Wing,” the CEC affirmed that both the party set up and the NPF Legislature Wing is intact and it will continue to function in tandem with each other.
It also reiterated the party’s stand on the integration of all contiguous Naga areas as enshrined in the party’s constitution. In the meantime, the CEC appealed to the neighbouring states/communities to extend their cooperation in finding the solution to the protracted Naga Political issue.
It also resolved to appeal to the Naga National Workers and the Government of India (GoI) to expedite the on-going political talk.
The meeting further resolved to support the formation of Joint Legislature Forum as it is the consistent stand of the party to build lasting peace and to hammer out a political solution that is inclusive and honourable.
The CEC meanwhile approved the proposal for the creation of Noklak as a separate division for the party; and the suggestion of the Constitution Amendment Committee for amendment of certain portions of the constitution.
