Athongti, Sentimoa, and Vilabizo won gold for Nagaland at Seongnam Open in South Korea.

SOUTH KOREA, JULY 20 (MExN): The Nagaland Taekwondo team won three gold medals at the Seongnam Open International Taekwondo Championships held in South Korea from July 18 to 20, bringing laurels to both the state and the country.
The team, led by Kethosituo Sekhose, Director of Youth Resources and Sports, was accompanied by Pele Khezhie, President of the Nagaland Taekwondo Association; Theja Keretsu, Team Manager; and Visabiu Peseyie, Coach.
The international event featured participants from 21 countries and witnessed a high level of competition.
The gold medal winners from Nagaland included P. Athongti – Gold in the Under 49 kg category, Sentimoa Ozukum – Gold in the Under 55 kg category, Vilabizo Nagi – Gold in the Under 68 kg category.
The team expressed gratitude to the Government of Nagaland, led by Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio, and to the Department of Youth Resources and Sports under Advisor S. Keoshu Yimkhiung for their continued support.
The delegation is also scheduled to meet with officials from World Taekwondo to explore future collaboration and development opportunities for the sport in Nagaland.
