
KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 10 (MExN): The State Task Force on Vector Borne and other communicable diseases on Wednesday reviewed Nagaland’s preparedness against malaria, dengue, Japanese Encephalitis (JE) and other diseases at a meeting held at the Health & Family Welfare Department, Civil Secretariat here.
The meeting, chaired by Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Anoop Khinchi, IAS, was attended by senior officials of Health & Family Welfare and representatives from departments including Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, PHED, Rural Development, School Education, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Police, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, besides partner organisations.
State Programme Officer (NVBDCP) Dr Imkongtemsu Longchar presented the epidemiological trend and preparedness measures being undertaken. The task force discussed strengthening surveillance, intensifying vector control activities, and conducting awareness campaigns across districts.
The chairperson stressed the need for inter-departmental coordination and community participation to effectively prevent disease outbreaks.
