DIMAPUR, JUNE 10 (MExN): The Department of State Taxes, Nagaland, has initiated a comprehensive state-wide drive titled “GST Registration Data Cleansing, Compliance Assessment & Market Survey” (GRDC-CAMS) aimed at inspecting and verifying Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration and compliance among registered taxpayers.
According to a press release issued by the Office of the Commissioner of State Taxes, Commercial State Tax Officers have been authorized to carry out inspections and verifications, as well as conduct market surveys to identify unregistered businesses liable for GST registration.
“All the esteemed taxpayers are requested to kindly cooperate and provide necessary information to the Commercial State Tax Officers to enable them to complete the exercise,” stated the Joint Commissioner of State Taxes.
The department stressed on the importance of the exercise in strengthening tax compliance and ensuring that all eligible businesses are brought under the GST net. The market survey will play a role in identifying businesses that are yet to register under GST despite being liable to do so.
