ECCE, FLN Block Level Teachers’ Training underway in Meluri
Kohima, March 19 (MExN): A five day long Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and FLN Block Level Teachers’ Training under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland commenced on March 18 at Meluri Village Council Hall, Meluri in Phek district.
Addressing the inaugural function, Joshua Koza, State Mentoring team emphasized the tailored nature of the curriculum, designed to meet the challenges of the context of Nagaland while aligning with the new National Education Policy 2020. He urged upon the teachers to embrace a paradigm shift towards holistic and activity-based learning, essential for effective implementation.
Koza stressed the importance of scaffolding and support for children in their formative years, emphasizing the need for diverse learning environments.
He highlighted the evolving role of teachers, now requiring 21st century skills to meet the demands of this new challenge with dedication and sincerity.
Delivering keynote address, Robert N Marathon, SDEO Meluri, underlined the significance of early childhood care and advocating for a foundational course in the state. He encouraged the teachers to view learning from the child's perspective, ensuring its meaningfulness and effectiveness. He commended the district's resource group for their hard work and dedication in organizing the workshop, acknowledging their crucial role in its success.
The inaugural function was chaired by Teisovi Katiry, coordinator EBRC Meluri.
