NWA wrestlers with officials and dignitaries at IG Stadium, Kohima on May 19, after the send-off programme for the Asian Belt Wrestling Alysh Championship in Delhi.

Kohima, May 19 (MExN): A 15-member team of wrestlers from the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) departed for Delhi today to participate in the upcoming Asian Belt Wrestling Alysh Championship, scheduled to be held from May 21 to 26.
Ahead of their departure, the team underwent a six-day intensive coaching camp at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, informed NWA Joint Secretary Kuzhovesa Soho in a press statement.
NWA officials, along with a referee nominated by United World Wrestling (UWW), will join the team in Delhi on May 21.
At a brief send-off programme was held earlier in the day at IG Stadium, NWA President Vivolie Kezo and Youth Resources & Sports Joint Director Jakedovo Chase addressed the team and encouraged the wrestlers.
Angami Sports Association President Rokovikho Chale also exhorted the athletes, while Rev Dr Kevichalie Metha, Pastor of Peraciezie Baptist Church, offered a prayer for the team.
The NWA expressed gratitude to the CBCK, CWA, ASA, DYRS, Kikruma Gospel Team, and the people of Kohima for their financial, moral, and prayer support towards the team.
The association also appealed to the Naga public to uphold the team in their prayers.
