Nagaland team participates in 36th National Games

Kohima, September 29 (MExN): Nagaland state is participating in the 36th National Games, Gujarat 2022 in the sport disciplines of Archery, Athletics, Boxing and Wrestling from September 29-October 22.

“Participation in the National Games in every event is possible only if the teams and individual athletes qualify through the criteria laid down by the respective National Sports Federations,” Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) Media Team stated in a press release. 

The Nagaland contingent comprises of:
•    Archery: HunezoThisa (Coach), Chekrovolu Swuro (Asst. coach), Edikunu Rikha  (Individual Recurve Round), Neikesa Sakhrie (Compound Round), Zhokhoto Demo (Indian Round), Nukho Lohe (Indian Round), Veduzo D Vadeo (Indian Round)
•    Athletics: Mhonsao Ngullie (Coach), Purna Konyak (Coach), Tsuchoi T (5000m), Neiketoulie Belho (100m)
•    Boxing: Tsungchetrenla (Coach), Preeti (Physiotherapist), Nirmal (57kg)
•    Wrestling: Kikhwesiil Thokhwe (Coach), Nosezonu Kotso(50kg)

Team Officials:
•    Chef de Mission: Kuputo Shohe, Jt Secretary, NOA & Vice President, Nagaland Shooting Sports Association.
•    Deputy Chef de Mission: Neivikuolie Khatsu, Asst Secretary General, NOA & Advisor, Nagaland Wrestling Association
•    Technical Officials: Two Technical Officials under Athletics have been selected by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) to officiate at the National Games. The two officials are Technical Officials (Athletics), Vinolie Medom and Neikuosielie.

Flag Bearers
•    Tsuchoi T from Noklak district, participating in the 5000m Athletics. She received the Outstanding Sportswoman Award at the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2022 by winning 5 Gold medals in Athletics; 
•    Zhokhoto Demo from Phek district, participating in the Indian Round Archery. He received the Outstanding Sportsman Award at the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2022 by winning 5 Gold medals in Archery.
