Nagaland Thang-Ta contingent wins two silvers at National School Championships

Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): Two players from the Nagaland contingent won silver medals at the 68th National School Games Championships 2024-25 held in Imphal.

Pelenla from St Paul Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, secured a silver medal in the 49kg Thang-Ta Martial Art category, while Vishal Tanti from Blue Moon School, Sangtamtilla, Dimapur, won a silver medal in the 70kg category.

Nine players from the All Nagaland Thang-Ta Association (ANTTA) participated in the championship.

They were led by four officials: Anthony (Boys’ Coach), Ayesha Thapa (Girls’ Coach), Arunge Newmai (Team Manager), and Johney John Francis (Team Coach and Technical Official).

Hosted by the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, Manipur, the championships in Imphal from April 7 to 12 were conducted in the disciplines of Weightlifting (U-17 Boys & Girls) and Thang-Ta (U-14 & U-19 Boys & Girls).

Meanwhile, the association has extended gratitude to the Director of Youth Resource & Sports, Nagaland, for sponsoring the team.
